HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Huntington man is facing several charges after police say he was pimping out a teen runaway from Chicago.
According to court documents, the 16-year-old told police that she met the suspect online.
David Pelfrey, 39, of Huntington, is charged with soliciting a minor via computer which is a felony. He is also charged with receiving support from prostitution, pimping, etc., which is a misdemeanor.
The criminal complaint states that Pelfrey admitted to meeting the teenager on Facebook and "having sex with her after she had moved in with him."
Police say the girl traveled to West Virginia to stay with Pelfrey in his home in the 900 block of West 18th Street in Huntington.
According to the complaint, the two had a "sexual relationship."
The girl also told police that she was selling herself to other men for sexual encounters while living there. Pelfrey was allegedly aware this was happening and profited from these encounters. The complaint states that the victim told police Pelfrey "was given or took some of the money or proceeds of these encounters."
Pelfrey was booked in the Western Regional Jail early Tuesday morning on a $60,000 cash-only bond.
