Parker, Hartley join Marshall football staff

The move fills two vacancies on the MU football staff.

Marshall has named Gerad Parker as wide receivers coach and Todd Hartley to oversee the safeties.

Marshall coach Doc Holliday announced the hirings Friday.

Parker spent the past three seasons as the passing game and recruiting coordinator at Tennessee-Martin.

He also served as the wide receivers coach in 2009.

Parker replaces Zach Smith, who left for a similar job at Temple.

Hartley was a graduate assistant at Georgia in 2009 and 2010. He'll replace Fred Tate, who moved to defensive line coach.

Huntington police investigating fatal shooting

Shooting occured Tuesday night between Charleston and Daulton Avenues
Huntington police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Tuesday night in a parking lot between Charleston and Daulton Avenues. The victim was a 48 year-old man.
Neighbors say they saw a car pull into the parking lot, heard shots fired and saw the car drive away. Early discriptions of the suspects list them as two males, possibly in their late teens.
