At the VP Debate, the moderator asked both Joe Biden & Paul Ryan how their faith defines who they are and what they believe when it comes to abortion.

Both men are Catholic, but gave two very different answers.  Ryan said he believes that life begins at conception.  The Wisconsin Congressman has been pro-life and has said he was against abortion for ANY reason, including rape.

However, in the debate, Ryan said that the Romney position is pro-life WITH exceptions.  Biden correctly pointed out Ryan's previous positon and the inconsistency.

Speaking of inconsistent...just look at Mitt Romney's position on abortion over the years.  He's been for and against more times than I can count!

Now on to Biden's answer of the question.  He said, "My religion defines my life."  Really?  The Catholic religion, as Biden correctly details, is staunchly against abortion - Biden is NOT.  So how can he say his religion defines him?  Obviously his religion have very little affect on one of the most important issues of the day.  And as a US Senator and now Vice President, Joe Biden has been in a position to influence that issue.  Unfortunately he has...for the pro-abortion crowd.

Religion doesn't define me.  The Bible dictates what I am to do, what I am to believe, and how I am to react on every issue.  The reason the Bible has that effect on me is because, for me, it's not a religion, it's a RELATIONSHIP!  My relationship is to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  He defines who I am, what I do, what I believe, and so on.  I can't just do what I want or have my own opinion.  Sure there's freedom, I have a will, but as a Christian I surrender my will to His.

That's not say I don't fail.  I sin.  I make many mistakes.  But through Christ I have forgiveness of sins.  And because I am a new creature in Christ, I desire to present my body, my life, a living sacrifice.  I am not there yet, but I want to be completely sold out to Him.

So how can I tell anyone that I believe something different than what the Word of God says?  What is life?  It is given by God.  So how can I, a mere man, give anyone permission to destroy life.  I cannot!
