The Tom Roten Morning Show...Mornings from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., on News Radio 800 WVHU/1600 WZZW.
Left early one day this week to visit my Dad in Parkersburg. Jim Roten is an 87-year-old WW II Veteran who has bravely weathered the storms of this Summer.
He fell on May 3rd, broke his hip. Had successful hip-replacement surgery on May 4th, but developed a very bad infection at the surgical site. Hard-ware had to be taken out and he had 4 surgeries to deal with the infection. Lived without a hip for several weeks until infection was gone.
Had 2nd hip surgery to put in new hard-ware last week of August, dislocated hip 2 days later in hospital while staff worked with him.
Finally got to come home on Sept. 15th, very weak, fell 2 days later. Fortunately no broken bones, back home and recovering.
Though he's very weak, he has shown incredible strength! And, as he would testify, that strength comes from the Lord!
Love ya Dad!
