The Tom Roten Morning Show...Mornings from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., on Newstalk 800 WVHU/1600 WZZW.
Thanks to the WV Legislature's desire to have even more control of our lives, Gov. ERT signed the mandatory seat belt law this week. Now cops can pull you over if they see you're not buckled-up! I buckle and think it's a good idea for who travel in vehicles to do so. But who am I to tell people that's what they must do? Well the WV Legislators & ERT are Tyrannicals who believe THEY know best! #Unbelievable!
Wonder if they'll have that deeped voiced guy that does all the other "Click it or Ticket" ads? Why don't they have that guy do ads against running a meth lab or selling prescription pain killers?
Read the Governor's press release below.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin, joined by transportation leaders and roadway safety advocates, today signed House Bill 2108 and reminded drivers and passengers to buckle-up. After numerous attempts at this legislation, the bill passed during the 2013 Legislative Session and makes not wearing a seat belt a primary offense in West Virginia.
"I'm happy to sign this bill. Buckling your seatbelt is one of the easiest life-saving precautions you can take, helping ensure your safety on the road," Gov. Tomblin said. "This bill is expected to save 17 lives each year and prevent 184 serious injuries. As Memorial Day weekend approaches, millions of Americans will be on the road. Now is the perfect time to remind travelers, just as this year's Click It or Ticket campaign states, Be Ready. Be Buckled."
Effective July 9, 2013, law enforcement officers can pull-over and issue citations if a driver or passenger is not wearing a seatbelt in a moving vehicle. Previously, not wearing a seatbelt was a secondary offense, only enabling law enforcement officers to ticket drivers and passengers if they pulled the vehicle over for a separate, primary offense.
Remember my definition of a Tyrannical: Someone who sees themselves as so elitist, so intellectually superior, so gifted, so special (especially in but not limited to politics) that mere citizens should not even as much as question their decisions or power.
IRS boss Lois Lerner is one such person!

Congrats to Chad and Brad - winners this week of the Reds/Indians tickets on The Tom Roten Morning Show! Your chance to win is Thursday! One more time at 8:35am I will ask a Reds trivia question. And your name doesn't have to be Tad!
What did Obama do on 9/11/2012? That's a great question! Jack Cashill goes over the timeline in this WND.com column. But we know he wasn't holding an umbrella!
